Should High Schools Require Students to Read the "Classics"

Amado Buffamante English 3-7-19 I believe Students should read the classics in High School. When a story changes over time it will apear differently to many different people of different ages. Having a discussion about a book may be difficult when your talking about a story from two perspectives. "Some works may be chosen because they are beautifully written, others because they are widely cited. Some works may be chosen simply because they are a short work by a famous author." These little stories may be altered when told after time because they are told differently throughout the generations. " The replacement titles in the mediabookhub list were most likely chosen because students will find them more relevant and easier to read." This is why classics should be read to keep our minds learning and improve our academic skills as a reader.

reassessing my goals

  Yes i have came closer to acheiving my long term goals by practicing them everyday. The more i practice the more i improve. I practice basketball everyday. I edit pictures for graphic design. I also edit videos on my free time and try to make cool videos. 2-3 subjects i want to major in are -graphic design -photography  2-3 colleges im interested in are - St Johns - Uconn

Goals

3 strengths I have - Very Athletic - I have a "try your best or it isnt good" mentality - Mathematics comes easy to me 3 major or long term goals are - professional athlete - graphic designer - video creater/ editor 3 things i can work on - being more organized - doing my homework ( not last second ) - paying attention   I plan to achieve these goals by making sure i put everything where they need to be before and after school. i will keep all my homework and notes in a organized way. such as a planner or in a spare notebook. i can set a reminder on my phone to remind me that i need to do something. i usually get distracted by other things such as tv and my phone. The time goes from 4 to 10 in a blink and then i begin to rush. this can also improve my grades by staying organized. ill be able to hand everything early or on time.    The Goddess was to blame for Enkidu's death. The Goddess gave the choice to sacrifice one person, either Enkidu or Shamash. Enlil influenced the sacrifice of Enkidu by suggesting that they sacrifice him instead of Shamash. If the Goddess never made the demand to sacrifice at least one of these people Enkidu wouldn't be in this situation.

Pixar Story Spine

   The Pixar story spine applies to the text we been examining because every text starts where a hero has to leave there comfort zone to save and return to there own world. Then when our hero returns home they come back with something special, like a reward. This either ends up in a relationship where two characters meet or where the hero gathers something they always wanted. But thats not the only thing. In most of the story's we read the hero comes back with fame. The city knows them for their great bravery.    The Epic of Gilgamesh follows the Pixar story Spine because Gilgamesh has a back story like many heroes in the video. Wall-e was a robot on earth trying to keep the world clean and is the only robot of his kind left on earth. Harry Potter and the Heroes Journey

   The Hogwarts Letter scene showed a call to adventure. After the Hogwarts were not able to get the first letter in they decided to ambush the whole entire house with the same letter to draw attention towards Harry. Since Harry Potter has discovered he is accepted to a wizard school he learns himself he is a wizard. This may lead Harry on many journeys in the future. Since Harry learned he was a wizard he already discovered a whole new world. A world full of wizards and magic. But this was only the beginning of his journey and he has much more to experience and accomplish!
